Kenny has played with and led many bands from a young age, getting to travel all over the world and playing many styles of music. He worked on the QE2 and led the band at the sporting club in Monaco.
Zoë has sung in many bands and appeared in Starlight Express in London and played Annie in the west end as a child. They had worked in together for some time and had a natural rapport on stage and when Kenny asked Zoë to write with him it was a very natural progression. They both love country music and it led to them writing their original album Walking on Steel , both contributing to the melody, lyrics and arrangement of each song. Of the 11 tracks on the album, Zoe and Kenny wrote 9. "I've got a Fender guitar (so I don't need you) was written by Kenny and Tommy Duffy, who also plays bass on the track. To finish they included two of their favorite traditional scottish songs as a bonus track.
Since releasing Walking on Steel in November 2007 it has received much attention from many of the DJ's playing country music in the UK, including Dave Cash at BBC Radio Kent, Marie Crichton at BBC Radio Shropshire, Ken Mcleod at radio Tay AM, Peter Fairhead at KCFM, Paul West at Hope FM, Bill Black and Jackie Storrar at Smooth Radio, David Callister at Manx Radio and Alan Watkiss who featured McKenZie as the spotlight UK artist on ukcountryradio.com.
They would love to share their music with as many people as possible, and have enjoyed appearing at the Towerfest and Norfolk Country Music Festival's this year, as well as many of the Country Music clubs up and down the UK. They are looking forward to performing at their upcoming gigs – hope you can make it!
